A dreamer’s story

Employee Leonardo Carmona, like many other employees with a history of success within the company, started his career as an intern, a position he remained for tem months until he was promoted to electrical assistant, before starting his journey at Lifting he worked at the commerce, where he got to know the company and thus began to build his partnership.

Leonardo was studying Business Administration when he realized that he would like to work in a more active area, so, analyzing Lifting’s optimistic projection in its segment, and through advice from friends and family, he changed his area of study, taking a technician course in electric.

Realizing the opportunity to develop personally and professionally in the offshore market, Carmona sought out the then management of the company, which promoted tests for joining the company as an intern, participated in this selection process after completing his electrical Technician course and started working at Lifting.

After a while he was promoted to electrical technician and now holds the position of electrical technician supervisor. Since then, its continuous improvement to stay in the profession: with new knowledge to “add value that nobody takes away”. In addition, he claims that there are demands from the customers themselves for certifications and courses, such as IRATA, EX, Salvatagem, HUET, CBSP, among others.

Carmona comments that the offshore market was very popular at the beginning of his career, due to the high remuneration offered to technicians, but he adds that this has changed as people have reflected on the quality of life and time away from family members: “it is well bad and sad, especially on commemorative dates, birthdays, Easter, Christmas, New Year, taking a stopover on board and being away from the family”.

However, he believes that the profession allows him to provide a better life for his family and emphasizes that “Lifting is a fair and serious company, a school for everyone who is here and for those who have left”. Finally, he suggests to those who are looking for opportunities not to give up, keep studying to qualify, because the market demands these qualifications both for those who are already in it and for those who are entering it today.
